The story of LEGO Star Wars minifigure printing and design development
LEGO Star Wars is a key element of fandom for both children and adults who support the Star Wars franchise.
Our mission is to provide a record of minifigure printing and design development throughout the years of LEGO Star Wars releases.
Those seeking materials and evidence to show the progression of LEGO minifigure printing and the different aspects of improvement will find this archive useful. Though this archive only covers LEGO Star Wars, the items in this archive can be compared to minifigures of other themes such as LEGO Marvel or LEGO City for differences in areas of improvement or design choices.
Clone Troopers
The soldiers of the Grand Army of the Republic have been portrayed in many variations. These examples showcase the improvements in helmet design and printing technology utilized by LEGO to bring our favorite clone troopers into minifigure form.
Imperial Soldiers
Imperial Stormtroopers are some of the most iconic designs in science fiction. They look even better as minifigures. However, the items of this collection also include the printing and design developments for some of the other soldiers of the Empire.
Rebel Fighters
This collection is made up of the printing developments LEGO has used to portray the pilots of the Rebel Alliance in LEGO form. There are also a couple examples of the improvements made in the depiction of Rebel troopers.
Gungans
Two of the minifigures in this collection are the oldest included in the archive. The improvements in printing are clearly visible for those who view this collection.
Public Service Announcement:
The contents of this archive were entirely dependent on the willingness of my parents to buy LEGOs, availability of LEGO sets, and the limitations of my personal budget. There are many figures missing from this collection, but updates to the collection will be posted on the archive Instagram page:
